SOME OF OUR GOALS
First of all, the goal of the Holt DNA Surname Project is to distinguish between Holt Family ancestral lines worldwide regardless of spelling. It has been proven already that Holt and various spellings of that name have been used by many different countries across the world. Secondly, to disprove or prove paper trail selections of ancestors and speculative lineages. Third, to prove connections of many of the multitudes of different short ancestral lines by matching DNA Y-chromosome samples from those lines. So, the more members that we get to join and place their DNA results in the pool for comparisons, the more we expect to find significant matches that will show common ancestral relationships and move many past their "Brick Walls." Privacy is of great importance. The names of the members and any living ancestors are listed as "Private" and only those who match each other are given contact information.
